29/01/12 - Writing and Recording Like Mad!

I suppose it's not really newsworthy, but what I'm up to right now is writing and recording.  I'm hopefully signing a publishing deal soon, so that my songs can be used in films, adverts and TV programmes, but there's a lot to do to get them ready.  So, I'm currently locked away in my home studio, working hard on producing the songs I've been writing since April.

I've worked with some great people (Joe Stilgoe and Lili Reinisch to name a couple), and I think the different collaborations come across in the work.  I can't post any just yet, but don't worry - I'll be making the usual song and dance about it as soon as I can!

I'm working - I promise!

18/10/11 - Hardcastle 6 is No. 1 on the US Smooth Jazz Chart

I woke up this morning to the news that Hardcastle 6, my third album with Paul Hardcastle, is No. 1 in the US Smooth Jazz chart.

Not only is it my third album with Paul, it's also my third No. 1.  What great news for a gloomy Tuesday in October!

I've been asked to appear on a Star-Studded Radio Show!

I've been asked to appear on Anne Diamond's BBC Radio Berkshire show on Monday 26th September!

The live broadcast will be a 'Musical Brunch' held at Laurie Holloway (MD Parkinson/Strictly Come Dancing)'s house, and will feature Wendy Craig, Rolf Harris and Sir Michael Parkinson.  I think I'll be singing a couple of Laurie's arrangements, and maybe talking about what it's like to work with Laurie, but honestly, I'm not sure what I'll be doing!  It should make for interesting radio!

To listen from 10am on Monday 26th September, click on this link, click 'Listen Live' and enjoy!  If you miss it, don't worry - I'll post a link to the iPlayer afterwards.

The +Ve reviewed in June edition of Jazzwise Magazine - (28/06/10)

The first official review of Becki's new album, 'The +Ve' has been published by Jazzwise Magazine.  In June's edition of the magazine, the album is given a glowing review by Peter Quinn.  Particular highlights include a comparison to Melody Gardot's (original) version of 'Who Will Comfort Me?' and a description of her vocal sound.  Go to the Reviews page to read more!

Subscribers of the magazine may also have seen a familiar face in the adverts section - it seems that Becki is the 'poster girl' of the Marlborough Jazz Festival!
